Welcome to CompatShield. By using our website, plugins, or related services (“Services”), you agree to these Terms & our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Use of Services
You may use the Services for personal or business purposes, subject to these Terms. Do not misuse, copy, or interfere with the Services, including by sending automated or excessive requests to our servers.
2. Accounts
Some features require an account. Keep your login secure and ensure the details are accurate. You must be of legal age in your country to register.
3. Payments & Subscriptions
Certain features are paid. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before renewal. Refund requests follow our Refund Policy.
4. Scan Results & Security Notices Disclaimer
Scan results and security notices (including the PHP security notice shown in our plugins) are for informational purposes only. They may not detect all issues. Security notices are based on publicly available advisories and on the version number reported by your server. They may be incomplete or delayed, and they may not reflect fixes that your hosting provider has applied without changing the version number. You are responsible for reviewing results, confirming the status of your server with your hosting provider, and acting accordingly.
5. Plugin Services & External Requests
Our plugins may connect to our servers and to third-party services to work. Without a license key, the plugin may download a public list of known PHP vulnerabilities from CompatShield; this request does not send data about your website. If you activate a license key, the plugin sends the information needed to run scans and return results, as described in our Privacy Policy. Our plugins may also use public services such as the WordPress.org API and WPTide, which are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
6. Content & IP
You own the content you provide but grant us rights to use it to operate the Services. All other rights, software, and trademarks belong to us.
7. Privacy
Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy. You may contact us regarding data rights at policy@compatshield.com.
8. Disclaimers & Liability
The Services are provided “as is” without any warranties. We do not guarantee that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted, or detect all issues or vulnerabilities. We do not guarantee that following any notice or recommendation will secure your website. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or USD 100 if you paid nothing).
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for misuse or violation of these Terms. You remain responsible for charges accrued before termination.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with disputes handled in New Delhi courts.
